In this video I challenge myself to build a piece of awesome Industrial Terrain from only cardboard! This was a cool challenge that made me explore some new techniques. This piece would be perfect for Warhammer 40,000, Necromunda, Kill Team or any other sci fi game.

This is too cool! I can clearly tell my graph paper concept art on the FB group inspired you! I thought "That front door and vent and pipes look familiar" You make this stuff look too easy! Thanks for your great content man.

Oh good I've got about a thousand Amazon boxes laying around. I knew I was saving those for something.

I see a few reviews of shredding with the chipboard linked in the description. I'm assuming you had no problem cutting through the chipboard with your knife? I really want to make modular square buildings for my 40k battlefield. Thank you. :)

Great work here. Could you give some more information on the small led light you fitted near the end of the video ? Subscribed.

Its just an led tea light pulled out of its housing and painted. I think i show the process in my terrain deathmatch video
Vor MonatEfe Isoglu
says only cardboard, paint and glue.... then proceeds to introduce chipboard
Vor MonatEric's Hobby Workshop
A ton of people have made a similar comment before you. In many parts of the world chipboard refers to a wood and glue composite that is used for construction. Here, that is called “particle board”. What i am using in this video is the cardboard material at the back of a legal pad. Paper cardstock that definitely is a type of cardboard
Vor MonatEric's Hobby Workshop
Chipboard is cardboard. This was ruled on by the World Trade Organization and disputing this fact is punishable by fines and up to 6 months jail time.

Bon continuation. Merci pour ton travail.

Not sure. I don't count and I'm not sure I would share even if I did! I spend a lot of time puzzling things out and less time actually building.

Eric, man, this is on another level. Best build video so far, and that's saying a lot! Everything you do is great but you still manage to get better every time, even your editing is getting really good! At the end with the lazy susan shot, the timing of the zoom and the speed-up with the music hit was perfect! As far as the build, man, where to start. A lot of build videos I can pay half-attention to and get everything they're doing, but literally you have so much information coming through so seamlessly all the time, I can't help but stay rapt. I think with a build like this especially, but even just when scratch-building generally, being able to have time-savers is absolutely critical, not only because time is limited, but it's easy to get frustrated when things take forever, or don't go together well, so having tricks to make a great bit quickly really helps re-energize, and I think that the railing with the hole punch and the q-tips was an absolute winner as far as that goes. I really like your attention to depth and dimensionality, with the recessed door, the vent & pipe box sub-assemblies, and the support girders. Every piece you make always looks plausible, like it's not just built as a gaming terrain piece, but hints strongly at initial function, as well as a story of usage after the fact. Anyway sorry for casting Wall of Text but in summary, 10/10 grand slam! Keep up the good work!

Hi, nice build! I have question though, how long to you wait until you paint over the latex masking and how long do you wait until you brush/chip it off?

Vor 2 MonateAshley Blackwater
In theory, you could grind up the cardboard to use as sand But dang this is awesome
Vor 2 MonateAshley Blackwater
Never really considered using salt for anything hobby related tbh. might be worth some experimentation.
Vor 2 MonateEric's Hobby Workshop
My original plan was to use salt, which is part of the corrugation process. But the potential for weird white blooms in the finished product just made it not worth it to attempt

The biggest problem with epic builds is that they look so good they are too daunting to try ourselves. What you have made looks awesome but you did it in such a way that shows us that we can do it too.

I cheat a little when it comes to metallic, usually rusty, old, cracked and broken down things: I use actual cracked, rusty, broken things. Bits and bobs of trash and unidentified stuff. Find it in my yard, garage, jobsites. There’s plenty of ways you could get your hands on all sorts of old junk. Even some newer stuff, like a toaster I ripped apart a few years back for god knows why, the thin aluminum plates, circuits, wires, heating elements. All fantastic. Today I found some piece of cracked white ceramic thing stuck on a nail, picked that sucker up, found a little disk looking thing, now I glue those together and boom! Decrepit street lamppost, looks like it used to be real rice but just was kept getting fixed by ramshackle, haphazard ways. I haven’t even painted the thing and it’s not bad.
