i have footage of the dog with the owner and stuff but it was weird and i didnt want to use it without his permission.. was weird because i was sort of mad at him for losing the dog and because he didnt seem as upset as i felt i would have been if i lost my cute little dog in a red sweater. glad the dog is safe. people need to be better dog owners. this guy seemed super irresponsible

I've been watching since pretty much day 1 and the one thing above all else that amazes me about your videos is your ability to tell a story. You made a video about making a soap holder and I was riveted. I still rewatch your videos like crazy and I am always entertained. I watched all of your daily vlogs back then, and they actually inspired me to try making YouTube videos. The one time I tried making daily vlogs I got sick by day 15 just from the intense amount of work and time they took. So props to you for having the stamina and being able to do 800 of them!

Hot take but my favorite era of the vlog, was the "epilogue" when he vlogged randomly during covid in L.A.... you can tell he was sad and maybe even depressed a little. Oh man the lost dog reminded me of this one time where i was walking my dog by this main street that i live by. I saw this small dog running in the middle of the intersection between all cars and the chaos of traffic, i knew it was a lost dog right away so quickly enough i picked up my dog and i started chasing it. I was wearing flip-flops which literally flew out instantly somewhere in the street, my dog was probably confused and dizzy as hell for all the sprinting im doing while holding him by my shoulder tightly like a baby. I chased the dog for about 5-6 blocks to where finally the dog went into a plaza and i was able to get him all calmed and settled while this other stranger pulled up from the street that was following me from a few blocks away to help me find the owners. It all worked out, funny enough the dog was wearing a red sweater.

that is a great perspective from the creators side. I think us as the consumers of your content should be made more aware of the work it takes to make a 30min video. we look at a video and that is what we see not the hours/days that went into it and then we get agitated when a video isn't posted on a certain day or even if it's an hour late even. keep doing what you do your doing awesome.

You literally put it out there for everyone. The daily vlog showcases every aspect of your personality and then there’s nothing left of you for your own self. Vlogging looking at the external world and bringing that to people, yeah that’s more healthy both for the world and for yourself!

I was watching Casey's videos LONG before the vlogs. I remember how happy I was when he decided to vlog. I remember being sad when he decided to quit, though I understood it. Every time he uploads though, it's always the same level of happiness again. I know I'm in for five to ten minutes of pure perspective. Casey's videos have always been special.

Very weird, I just reached the same conclusion I never vlogged daily, or even posted all that much, but just two nights ago was looking at some old movies I made of friend adventures and realised my favourite parts of those movies was other people, other things, external stuff - I’m think it’s about time I got back to filming stuff

As a photographer I used to take my camera with me wherever I went. I started to notice that I don't remember the moments I photographed as well as I would have liked, because the memory is tainted with technical camera stuff. Now when I see something majestic, I just look and take it in, using all my senses.

This is an underrated comment. Also for non-photographers since everyone is trying to capture the right photo on their phone or a good boomerang for instagram etc… In 20-30 some years we’ll be old people with nothing but filled camera rolls without any emotions to remember linked to our images.
