Her rapport with Dave was so awesome. Aretha was famously guarded during interviews, and rarely seemed to warm up to most interviewers. She was notoriously private and interviewers probing into her personal life just seemed to make her distrustful and cold from the jump. But with Dave, she was so warm, personable, and fun. I think that says a lot about Dave’s style of interviewing, which while irreverent at times, in most cases seemed to maintain a respect for the person being interviewed. ESPECIALLY if he liked or respected the person he was interviewing. It was delightful to see her be so happy, and full of smiles, jokes, and laughter with Dave.

I really enjoyed watching Dave's confidence grow as the years passed until he could totally hold his own with Jack. That last appearance is priceless.

Sometimes, when you introduce two of your favorite geniuses to each other because you are so certain they will get along swimmingly, disaster ensues. What a bummer! Revered them both in my youth.

I'm not sure why she's there... She was snarky, some might call it sassy, but it was awkward and offputting. If she didn't care about what she is doing with her life, then why show up? She had to know that there'd be questions as to why she didn't go into biophysics or something that would work her so called 'genius'. He didn't seem comfortable, she didn't seem comfortable. She should have anticipated that...

Ugh, typing. About 8 years ago my grandma's friend had a problem. Her husband was a university professor and had written a textbook that needed to be submitted, but the file somehow got deleted or something. So it needed to be typed up by the next morning. She paid me to do it, and I guess I was the only person willing to do it on such short notice, because I am not an expert by any means. Had I known just how long it was I don't think I would have agreed to do it. There was a typed copy with edits and stuff on it, and there was probably a way to scan a document and convert it to text at that time, but I didn't know how to do it. So I stayed up all night and typed this thing, and my fingers and hands were so messed up. I didn't even bother going back over what I had already typed past a certain point, and I hope that I was pretty accurate. Hopefully someone else fixed my mistakes farther down the line. If not, and you had a college textbook filled with nonsense, sorry, lol. I remember it was related to business.
